Don’t even tell me how nice the OE Honda S2000 wheels are, I already know. All of the original Honda wheels in general are nice.
Here’s the reason that it was launched in 1999 : to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary. Can you imagine how nice the 2000 model would have been if it had the OEM 2007 Honda S2000 wheels on it?

Anyway, the car made its first appearance as a concept car in a Tokyo Motor Show in 1995. It has the S2000 name because of its engine displacement of 2L.
