History of Saab Rims & Saab Wheels

Saab actually stands for “Swedish Aeroplane Company Limited”. It was founded in 1937 in Trollhättan, Sweden. A lot of the Saab models that were made in the beginning were stocked with Original aluminum hubcaps instead of your typical alloy wheels. Some of the older Saab models do have alloy Saab wheels, but it’s not common. The following list displays the models of Saab Rims, including the years that each model was available with Saab Wheels…

• 9-3 Rims & 9-3 Wheels, 1999 thru 2011
• 9-5 Rims & 9-5 Wheels, 1999 thru 2011

Saab Rims Finishes

Since Saab first started, they have had the opportunity to design different styles of Original Rims for the different model vehicles they release every year or so. The most used finish on the Saab Wheels is the silver  (argent) finish, followed closely by the brushed aluminum (machined) finish. Next come the the polished and chrome finishes. Make sure to note that some Saab Dealerships send the Silver Saab Rims out to be chromed after market. Because of this, some Saab Rims and Saab Wheels that you might see on the road, are not authentic factory originals.
