Mercedes-Benz's B class began production in 2005 (for a 2006 model year) in an effort to fill the growing market demand for compact five door hatchbacks. With relatively small engines, most were 2.0L straight four cylinder engines powered by petrol, diesel, and even a natural gas version was released in January of 2013, there was a turbo charged two liter available, as well as a 1.5L and 1.7L non turbocharged petrol engines. On the second generation, B series cars only had two engine options- a 1.6L straight four or 1.8 Diesel straight four cylinder engine. As a compact multi purpose vehicle (or MPV) B class vehicles had front wheel drive and has both manual and automatic transmissions offered. B class vehicles are still being successfully produced today.

B-class rims were exclusively finished in silver apart from the single steel wheel that was 16". The silver alloy wheels included 15", 16", 17", and 18" rims with 5 or 5 double spokes.
