What\u2019s the difference? Well <\/em>front wheel drive <\/strong>is where the engine only drives the front wheels. Rear wheel drive <\/strong>is where the engine is in the front of the vehicle (obviously), but the wheels that are being driven are found in the back. I know, I know; it\u2019s so hard to understand – but try keeping up, kay?<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s study some facts of the FWD:<\/p>\n

  • It\u2019s lighter in weight which means better gas mileage.<\/li>\n
  • It doesn\u2019t cost as much considering it has fewer parts to it.<\/li>\n
  • Left-Foot Braking is an option available with FWD.<\/li>\n
  • Lack of weight shifting can cause your car to either pull to the left or the right when you accelerate.<\/li>\n
  • They tend to lose traction quickly under low traction conditions.<\/li>\n

    \u00a0Now let\u2019s take a look at RWD:<\/p>\n

  • The weight is distributed evenly in the vehicle.<\/li>\n
  • The weight transfers when you\u2019re speeding up which refines traction.<\/li>\n
  • Since the weight is evenly distributed, this causes for better braking.<\/li>\n
  • When you accelerate too much, this can cause oversteer or fishtailing.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  • When you drive on sand, ice, or snow, RWD loses it\u2019s traction advantageousness.<\/li>\n
