The dealer says to do it this way but then the tire shop says to do it the other way, right? There\u2019s basically two ways to figure it out:<\/p>\n<p>1. Use a tape measure (which is ABSOLUTELY wrong because it will give you the wrong result)<\/p>\n<p>2. Completely understanding the set of numbers on your tire.<\/p>\n<p>To use the tape measure, don\u2019t even bother.<\/p>\n<p>So let\u2019s understand that alien language on that tire of yours, shall we? Okay, so let\u2019s say for example there\u2019s something on your tire that says \u201c225\/50R16\u201d; the first set of numbers is the width (225), the second number is the profile (50) and finally, the third number with the letter in the front is the diameter (R16); which means that \u201c16\u201d is the size of your rim.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6axuf2ATI4Y\" width=\"320\" height=\"220\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Just remember that this is only an <strong>example<\/strong>; all tires are different which means that all the numbers can be different.
