It made it\u2019s debut here in late 2004 as the 2005 model.<\/p>\n<p>The name \u201cLaCrosse\u201d was inspired by a separate Buick concept car of the same name that was originally shown in 2000. In Canada, it was initially sold as the Buick Allure because \u201cLa Crosse\u201d means \u201cself-love\u201d in Quebec French slang. It was the best selling Buick car in Canada until 2008 &#8211; that\u2019s when the Enclave became the best seller; but it really doesn\u2019t matter because for one: they\u2019re still selling cars from their company <em>and f<\/em>actory <a href=\"http:\/\/www.originalwheels.com\/buick-wheels\/index.php\">Buick wheels<\/a> .<\/p>\n<p>In 2008, the GM in Shanghai introduced something called a \u201ctwo-mode\u201d hybrid system on the Buick LaCrosse. It uses a belt alternator starter system and is known as the first two-mode hybrid in the Chinese market.
