The Subaru Forester was manufactured as an all-wheel drive crossover station wagon .. but a modern one with OEM Subaru wheels on it – it’s listed on the market as an SUV. It was introduced to the United States in 1998 as the ‘98 model with Factory 1998 Subaru Forester rims standard on the vehicle.
It has the same platform as the Impreza & now has a hybrid platform from the Japanese Impreza model. It was made with four-wheel drive as standard when you first bought it. Here’s a random fact: If you go to Japan & buy this car, it’d be considered as compact. Cool, right?
The Subaru Forester & the OE Subaru Forester rims received Car and Driver’s Best Small SUV from 2004-2006 & was even winner of Motor Trend Magazine’s Sport/Utility of the Year Award for 2009.
