“What Are Mud Flaps?”

July 19th, 2011

If you have a heavy duty truck with OE Dodge rims on it then I’m positive you know what these are.

Mud flaps are basically rubber mats that are attached directly behind the wheels of cars – in this case, they’d be attached directly behind the OEM Dodge wheels that you have on your vehicle. The main function of mud flaps is to shield other cars from mud & other stuff that’s flung out by your tires and your truck wheels.

These flaps aren’t always considered standard accessories on passenger cars,  but almost all commercial trucks use them as safety features on the road. Some trucks hauling loose materials like gravel have to take precautions against accidents that are caused by flying debris.

Are you going to consider getting some?
