AWD On GMC Wheels

July 12th, 2011

I think that OE GMC wheels usually work with all-wheel drive (AWD), right? Maybe the wheels that go on the GMC Sierra – the 1500? Please correct me if I’m wrong. I think most people get confused when they talk about 4-wheel drive (4WD) & AWD; even I get confused & I’ve been working here for about two years. I mean, I guess it’s normal to get a bit mixed up sometimes, but let me explain thoroughly:

The main thing with the AWD & the 4WD is that you waste more gas when you have 4WD installed on your car and when your GMC rims follow that system. The main reason why is because the computer system that’s installed in your AWD vehicle is always changing the torque to each of the four different wheels on the GMC Sierra 1500. This is so the force is only applied to the Factory Original Wheels that actually need it at any given time.

So, do you have 4WD or AWD? Are you looking to switch to AWD?

I would,
Mykalanne.
