Introduced as the entry level car for Infiniti the G20 was a four door sedan with front wheel drive along with a front engine that was, as the 20 in G20 suggests, a 2.0L straight four cylinder engine. Based off of the Primera, the main differences between the two cars is the standard equipment offered of which the Infiniti had many more features. The G20 ran for two generations until Infiniti replaced it with the G35, which can be considered the third generation of the G line up, in 2002.

Wheels for the G20 were exclusively 14" and 15" rims except for a single 16" alloy rim finished in silver with 8 spokes. Only two steel rims were available, a 14" steel wheel with painted finish and a 15" steel rim with either black or silver finish. The remaining wheels were finished in silver, glossy, dull, or silver with machined edge and had 6, 6 double, or 8 double spokes.
