Information On Factory Land Rover LR3 Rims and Wheels

The LR3 began production in 2004 and was actually the third generation Discovery that in markets outside of North America was actually called Discovery 3. The five door SUV is quite different from the previous two Discovery models due to a larger budget (facilitated by Ford's purchase of LandRover) that is seen most clearly by the more luxurious interior as well as new parts made specifically for the LR3 (as opposed to the recycled parts from the first generation Range Rover that the previous Discoveries utilized). Equipped with the choice of either a V6 (either a 2.7L turbo diesel or a 4.0L petrol, both manufactured by Ford) or a V8 (a 4.4L petrol manufactured by Jaguar), the LR3 came standard with a 6 speed automatic transmission but had an optional 6 speed manual transmission available. In 2009 a fourth generation Discovery was released replacing the LR3 name with the LR4.

LR3 rims were exclusively 18" or 19" alloy rims with the only steel wheels offered as compact spares. The two 18" alloy wheels both had silver finish and 5 or 10 spokes. The three 19" rims were finished in either sparkle silver or shadow chrome and had 6 or 7 spokes.
