Fuel Efficiency & Ford

April 29th, 2011

More fuel-efficient cars from Ford with OE Ford rims on them? Well, it sure looks that way! Ford is planning to change their North American manufacturing plans and its lineup of vehicles available in the United States. I’m all for it!

When it comes to the manufacturing here in North America, Ford will eventually convert three existing truck and sport utility vehicle (SUV) plants for small car production, with the first conversion starting in December at its Michigan Truck Plant. This means that there will be no more Ford Expedition rims being made in those plants – but don’t worry, you’ll still get those 2008 Ford Expedition rims that you love so much.

For the 2007 model year, Ford had about 13 U.S. models that achieve 30 miles per gallon or better – cool, right? Because of this, Ford stated that they eliminated about 3,000,000 (million) pounds of smog-forming emissions from their U.S. cars and light trucks over the 2004 to 2006 model years.

Helping the U.S. one car at a time,
Mykalanne.
