The 2500 van by GMC (which is essentially identical to Chevy's 2500 Van, the Express) has run from 1978 and continues production today. The 2500 is an identifying number that indicates a towing capacity of 7800 lb.s and a payload of 2708 as opposed to the 1500 and 3500 vans that were able to tow 6200 and 7700 (respectively) and sustain a payload of 1707 and 3591 (respectively).

Rims available on the 2500 include four steel wheels -- three of which were 15" with 4,8, or 16 spokes and two 16" steel rims with 4 or 5 spokes; all had painted finish. There were also two alloy rims offered that were composed of two 15" wheels with machined finish and 8 or 5 spokes.
