The Lincoln Zephyr revived nameplate (from the previous classic car that ran 1936-1940) was only used for one year - 2006 - before poor sales incited the name change to MKZ. After the change in 2007, very little truly differed apart from slight resizing all around, specifically notable in the new V6 engine that was 3.0L (as opposed to the previous 3.5L V6- but a straight four was still offered after 2007). The name was changed to MKZ in an effort to mimic other alphanumeric naming systems from the vehicles they competed with (such as Lexus and BMW) and must have made some difference as the MKZ nameplate continues successfully today.

There were two 17" alloy rims available on the Zephyr, both alloy, either with chrome finish and 8 spokes or machined with 8 split spokes.
